What we delivered

The NRG Mission is an engaging, hands-on programme designed to inspire pupils to save money and energy – or as we like to call it, ‘MONERGY’! Packed with dynamic activities and fun-filled learning, it teaches pupils the importance of energy conservation and how to make a real difference in their homes and schools.

The day starts with a high-impact, 20-minute whole-school assembly (Years 1 to 6), introducing the eccentric Prof and her cheeky Furry Feral Friends, Joules and Eddi. It’s presented by our NRGenius, who stays in school for the full day.

Led by our smart-thinking NRGenius, each 1-hour interactive workshop (Years 3 to 6) takes pupils on a deep dive into energy efficiency. Pupils are inspired to save energy and make a Power Down Pledge (PDP) about how they will conserve energy at home.

Before the visit, teachers run a quick 20-minute pre-workshop session from the WattWeb, our virtual lab, where pupils meet The Prof, Eddi, Joules and The Count and learn about our planet, where we get our energy from and how we can work together to Power Down & Save Up.

The impact

Every pupil leaves with a Power Down Pledge: their own promise about how they’ll save energy at home, taking the learning beyond the classroom to their families.

Classes can upload pictures of their pledges to the WattWeb, and pupils become official NRGeniuses.

A typical day

We’ll tailor the sessions to fit your timetable. A typical day looks like:

  • 9:00am: NRG Mission assembly (whole school)
  • 9:30–10:30am: Year 3 workshop
  • 10:50–11:50am: Year 4 workshop
  • 1:00–2:00pm: Year 5 workshop
  • 2:00–3:00pm: Year 6 workshop

One NRGenius works with each class at a time.

Book The NRG Mission

To book your assembly and workshops, we just need the number of children in Years 1–6 and the number of classes per year group from Years 3–6. We’ll deliver the right number of workshops for your school.
